Announcement: Meltzer Park, Cricket Field

At the direction of Deputy Supervisor Bick and the Clay Town Board, the Highway Department has begun construction on a Cricket pitch (field) in Meltzer Park.

After meeting with community members and the Town Board last fall, Deputy Supervisor Bick worked with the Highway Superintendent, Joe Nicoletti, and Recreation Director, James Muscatello, to see that the project was started as soon as conditions and resources allowed.

We look forward to becoming a destination for Cricket clubs all across Upstate New York!

FYI: In honor of Labor Day, the Town of Clay Offices and Highway Offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th.

Planning Board Hearings - August 12, 2026

PLANNING BOARD HEARINGS: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN; that the Regular Meeting of the Planning Board, of the Town of Clay, will be held on August 12, 2026.  The pre-agenda meeting begins at 7:00 P.M. and public hearings start at 7:30 P.M., at the Clay Town Hall, 4401 State Route 31, Clay, New York pursuant to applicable provisions of the Town of Clay Zoning Ordinance to consider the following:

Case #2026-061 - for an AMENDED SITE PLAN application by EquipmentShare to add an accessory wash basin and expand their laydown yard. The property which is the subject of this application is 4708 Dey Rd., Tax ID # 105.-02-02.1. The property is in the Industrial 1 (I-1) Zoning District.

ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Clay, New York on August 10, 2026, will hold a pre-agenda meeting at 5:30 P.M. in the Jury Room, followed by the Regular Meeting, public hearings beginning at 6:00 P.M., at the Clay Town Hall, 4401 State Route 31, Clay, New York, on the following matters:

Case #2010 – Charles & Carol Lee/KK-J Architecture, 9178 Henry Clay Boulevard, Tax Map ID #034.-01-07.0.  The applicant is seeking three Area Variances pursuant to Section 230-13A(4) – Lot and Structure Dimensional Requirements, for a reduction in the front yard setback from 75 feet to 40.83 feet, a reduction in the westerly side yard setback from 25 feet to 19.3 feet, and a reduction in the easterly side yard setback from 25 feet to 4.2 feet for the principal structure. The property is in the Residential Agricultural (RA-100) Zoning District.

Case #2011 – Jesse Balaz, 8000 Ginger Road, Tax Map ID #081.-34-01.0.  The applicant is seeking two Area Variances pursuant to Section 230-13E(4)(c)[1] – Lot and Structure Dimensional Requirements, for a reduction in the front yard setback from 25 feet to 10 feet; and Section 230-20B(2)(b) to have a fence height of 6 feet between the street line and setback line. The property is in the One-Family Residential (R-10) Zoning District.

Case #2012- Paul B. White, 3851 Bonstead Road, Tax Map ID #025.-01-02.3. The applicant is seeking an Area Variance pursuant to Section 230-13A(4) - Lot and Structure Dimensional Requirements, for a reduction in the front yard setback from 75 feet to 14 feet for an accessory structure. The property is in the Residential Agricultural (RA-100) Zoning District.
