Office Renovations

Please be aware the Codes and Planning Departments are in the process of office renovations as part of our ongoing efforts to improve services for residents and staff. While work is underway, phone response times may be temporarily delayed. We appreciate your understanding and ask visitors to use caution when visiting the area.

The Town of Clay offices and Highway offices will be closed on Monday, February 16th in honor of President's Day.

Please keep all sidewalks clear of snow and ice. 

We would like to remind our commercial and residential owners of property in the Town that is the owner’s responsibility to make sure all sidewalks adjacent to their property are free from obstructions. We have many residents that rely on safe passage along sidewalks. In addition to being a good neighbor, sidewalk maintenance is the law in Clay. Section 197 of the Clay Town Code dictates “The owner or occupant of lands fronting or abutting on any street in the Town of Clay shall maintain and repair the sidewalks adjoining said lands and keep the sidewalk free from obstruction, including snow and ice. Such owner or occupant shall be liable for any injury or damage by reason of omission, failure or negligence to maintain or repair such sidewalks or to keep them free of obstructions, including snow and ice.”

2026 Trash/Recyclable Flyer

See attached 2026 Trash/Recyclable flyer from Superior Waste. It is preferred that you put your trash and recycles out the night prior to your scheduled collection day. If this is not possible, be sure it is out prior to 6am.

***Please be advised if you previously rented a trash tote from Butler Disposal, they will be going through Clay to collect them as they are no longer the rubbish hauler for the Town. For pro-rated reimbursement, please call Butler Disposal directly at (315) 342-0832.

You may rent a trash and recyclable tote from Superior Waste for $150 for a term of 5 years (or one tote for $75 for a term of 5 year). You may also contact them to set up door-side pickup. They can be reached by phone at (315) 672-3174.***

I look forward to the coming year as it will bring with it many changes that will impact us all.  Before us is the opportunity to embrace the future and to ensure that our community will evolve and grow because of our shared commitment to the Town we all call home.
